Long sinuous lines, almost like vines, gracefully curve downward to a Baltic amber cabochon centerpiece. The teardrop-shaped setting, which is cut out and gently curved, give the pendant a slightly art nouveau look.
The cabochon has a bezel setting, which is open in back, allowing as much light into the stone as possible to animate it.
Most of the world's amber comes from the Baltic region in northern Europe, especially Kaliningrad, Russia. Baltic amber is estimated to be 44 million years old and comes to us, through a geological process, from ancient forests.Because of its age, it is thought to contain very "old" natural energies and the accumulated knowledge of earth and living things. Some pieces of amber even contain small insects that became trapped when the resin was still liquid. Amber is believed to attract good luck, balance the emotions, relieve headaches, alleviate fears, dissolve negative energies, and to clear the mind.
